Frequently asked questions

How much do I need to retire in Singapore?

A working rule of thumb: 25 to 30 times your annual spending, minus whatever CPF LIFE will pay you. If you spend S$2,500 a month and CPF LIFE covers S$1,780, your gap is about S$720 a month — roughly S$260,000 in invested assets at a 4% withdrawal rate.

What are the CPF retirement sums for 2026?

For those turning 55 in 2026: Basic Retirement Sum S$110,200, Full Retirement Sum S$220,400, Enhanced Retirement Sum S$440,800. The sums rise roughly 3.5% every January, so plan on them being higher if you're younger.

Is CPF LIFE enough to retire on?

For most people it covers the basics — food, utilities, conservancy fees, with a paid-off flat. The gap is everything beyond that: travel, family support, medical surprises, the occasional nice thing. That gap is the number this calculator shows you.

How much should I save each month for retirement?

Work backwards from the gap. A S$500 monthly gap needs around S$260,000 invested; reaching that in 20 years at a 6% return means saving roughly S$560 a month. If that's too much today, start lower and automate an annual increase.
