Our method

1. Primary source first

Every rule in our engine comes from an official source — cpf.gov.sg, iras.gov.sg, mom.gov.sg or mof.gov.sg — read directly, not through a blog. Secondary sources (news sites, other calculators) are used only to corroborate and to date-stamp announcements.

2. Verified on a date, in public

Each rule carries a last-verified date and is listed on the Sources & rules page. When the Government changes something — a wage ceiling, an SRS cap, an interest floor — we verify against the primary announcement, update the engine, and log the change with the source and date. Government sites restructure their URLs without redirects, so a broken link on our side triggers a manual re-verification, never a silent assumption.

3. Tested, not just typed

The engine runs an automated test suite on every build: age-band contribution boundaries, wage-ceiling clamps, SRS caps, tax-bracket edges. A failing test blocks the build.

4. Estimates, labelled as estimates

CPF LIFE payouts are interpolated from CPF Board's published reference anchors, so we show them as bands (≈, rounded to the nearest S$10, ±5%) — not to the cent. Where a figure is exact (your CPF deduction this month), we show exact. Where it's a model (your payout at 85), we show an estimate and say so.

5. Official tools win disputes

We are deliberately a second opinion. For any decision with money attached, check the official CPF Board estimator or IRAS calculator. If we ever disagree with an official figure, treat ours as wrong and report it.

6. No accounts, no tracking of your numbers

Calculations run in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere. (See Privacy.)
